About Rotary International

Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem solvers who see a world where people unite in action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. The 46,000+ clubs work together to:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Save mothers and children
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies
  • Protect the environment

Rossmoor Rotary Foundation

Rossmoor Rotary has established a 501c3  Foundation to raise funds in support of non-profit charitable organizations. Through members and friends of Rotary donations, an annual Gala, and other fundraisers, we provide grants to local organizations and projects endorsed by Rotary International. Each of the past two fiscal years we have donated over $140,000 in grants support.

Local grants

Funds from the Gala are specifically designated to support Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Cancer services. Over the past 36 years the Foundation has raised over $1.1million for these causes.

In addition, funds are donated to the Rossmoor Scholarship Fund in support of local senior high school students planning to attend college. This past year we donated $14,000 for scholarships, and we sponsor junior high school student’s attendance at a week-long leadership camp.

Other grants have included funds for an irrigation system at a ranch day program supporting adults with Autism, a homeless family shelter, and a STEM conference for young women.

International grants

Projects in partnership with international clubs are also supported by the Rossmoor Rotary Foundation. We have supported sanitation for schools in Ethiopia, laundry facilities for a school in Peru, dirt floors replaced with cement in poor Guatemala homes. Most international projects receive matching funding from Rotary International’s Foundation.
